Piggy Bento

I made this lovely piggy bento for my daughter. with brocolly inside, scramble egg and dori fish. The cow actually is a cupcake from my friend. and the girls want me to put it in their lunch. (^^,) ,,, what a lovely combination I think.

This cinnamoroll bento,  is inspired from this cinnamoroll picture, hope I will make more cute cinnamoroll character next time with the blue eyes and pink cheek (^0^)

Inside the box : new zealand beef with yakiniku sauce in the cup, fried noodle and decorate with brocolly and carrot. 

Nasi Liwet in a Box ,,, Bento #34

Nasi Liwet in a Box

This box filled with indonesian traditional food ,,, 
the ball rice made from "Nasi Liwet". 
 I filled the box with ayam goreng serundeng (indonesian style fried chicken with turmeric), deep fried marinated chicken gizzard, fried egg, fried vermicelli, and crispy peanut crackers and decorated with kemangi.

Nasi liwet is rice cooked in coconut milk and chicken broth, taste so delicious. yummy (^^,) ,,, this is one of my family's favourite food.

Hello all , Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2013 ,,

 This is my first post here on this excited new year.

It's amazing how another year has flown by. I try my best to look forward to what's to come with new hope and new spirit. For me, this new year is no more than a change of a calendar, but this new year symbolized the beginning of a better tomorrow, and always believe that GOD gives us every opportunity with a fresh page of our lives. Thank you Jesus.

Actually this Christmas Bento I prepared last christmas 2012, It was a little late ya hehehe (^^,)

My Girl's Birthday and Bento # 32

Celebrated my girl's birthday, my friend made this birthday pudding for her. When my friend asked JC what she liked for her birthday, she asked for "Stitch" theme and  ,,, 

So Surprised ,,, my friend made the most amazing birthday pudding. This Stitch birthday pudding was so memorable, beautiful and adorable,,,, She made rainbow pudding decorated with Stitch and Angel.  So colorful and Taste so delicious  ,,,,, thanks so much aunt Wei ,, (^^,) 

And I also made  this bento for her  (^^,)  ,,, she said that she really enjoyed this bento.

Inside the box : colorful rice ball, chicken stick, and slices of red snapper fish and  tofu with tausi, decorated with egg, brocolly and carrots.

 

Hello Kitty Butter Rice ,,,, Bento # 31

I woke up so early today, and made these butter rice for my girls lunches.  This was a very simple and quick bento. I used large hello kitty rice mold, it's handy for making onigiri and for making ordinary rice much cuter.

I had salmon in my refrigerator, and cooked with teriyaki sauce. Decorated with brocolly and fish cake.  So here's my quick and simple bentos for today.

Pork Satay ,,,, Bento # 30

Today is public holiday ,, so I have a lot of time to prepare something different today. Yes, I prepare pork satay today, because during school holiday, especially in the morning, I won't have extra time to make satay and put in lunch boxes together.

I already marinade the pork for an hour before I grilled the satay. Marinades and flavourings for satay need not be too difficult to put together. I used what I have in the store cupboard and fridge.I put soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame oil.

Because they went for swimming today with their friends.  I have to prepare these satay with onigiri ,, with chocolate jelly for dessert ,,, and I put all together in their lunch boxes.  Enjoy ,,, and have a nice day girls. (^^,)

Baby Seal Bento ,,,, Bento # 29

My family is so busy that over the weekend, we make time to attend marching band competitions in our town. My daughter is in the band and the work they put in is unbelievable. They had marching band practise these past 3 weeks, from 12 to 5 ,, so tired actually, but they really enjoyed the time.

Marching band has a big family feel to it; they spend a lot of time with each other between competition and practice, which could be up to 13 extra hours including rehearsals.

They work hard, they are very respectful, they have put together a great effort and they are a great bunch of kids.





To cheer up my daughter during her rehearsal, I made this Mamegoma bento,, (^^,)  

They pick blue and pink baby seals for the bentos ,,  (^0^)

Inside the box : Dino Nugget, Pork with oyster sauce and decorated with brocolly ,, and for Jovy I put orange in the box.

Baby Panda (Baby Po) Bento ,, Bento # 28

It's been such a long time since I've posted here. I still pack my girls' lunches, but they are so much the same every day that I not posted here.  I've been more into cooking than Bento here lately. And finally today, I want to start post my bento again (^^,). 

At first let me introduce my Baby Po papercraft, from Kungfu Panda 2 ,, so cute right .... (^^,)

For today, I made beef yakiniku and fried mini siomay ,, with cute baby panda onigiri. Decorated with brocolly and carrots.

For a light dessert, I put Chocolate jelly into the box ,, it can be the best bet to round off my kid's lunch.

 

Stitch Day ,,, Bento # 27

It's have been more than a week I didn't post my bento to my blog ,, (^0^) ,, since I always get stuck in traffic jam on my way home after dropped my kids ,,  experience of being stuck in the middle of vehicles, I felt so powerless to get out of it or to move as fast as I would like to (0x0)

So for more than a week, I didn't have time to go back home again after dropped the kids  ,, 

Everyday, I prepared their breakfast and lunch all together early in the morning, so I didn't have enough time to made cute one ,, (^^,)

and since today is Sunday, I'd prefer stay at home, to enjoy the day without any traffic jam ,,,,, yippppiiiieeeee \(^0^)/ ,,

I started the day with made this breakfast for my girls. For today theme, my kids choose "Stitch" theme for their bentos.

For breakfast, I made ham and cheese sandwich ,,, and add some sausages in the box ,,,

and For lunch I prepared seafood fried rice. I decorated the fried rice with stitch face made from cheese and add some fish ball at top.

Charmy Kitty ,,, Bento # 026

Charmy Kitty n Friends

This bento was special request from my youngest daughter. She's got some kitty stickers from her friend, and asked me to make charmy kitty bento.

I had a shrimp in my refrigerator, so I cooked simple and quick one ,,,  "shrimp with oyster sauce"

My daughters really liked quail eggs, and wanted me to put these eggs again in their lunch box.

I decorated the box with brocolly, carrots, and flower egg ,, simple decoration ,,, (^^,)

Cute Bunny Bento

For last tuesday, I made Indonesian Beef Stew (semur daging). Semur is Indonesian style slow braised stew with spice. 

Because I made this semur for children, so I used Minced Beef. I shaped the beef like a meat ball, and then simmered the beef in sweet soy sauce spiced with garlic, shallot, nutmeg, and I added pepper and salt.

I add quail egg and fried tofu. Decorated the bentos with brocolly and carrots.

and happily ,, they liked it ,, (^^,)

 

Marie Cat Lunch ,, Bento # 024

I haven't been posting bentos for most of this week, since I have to busy to post and blog last week (^^,).

I made several bentos for my kids' lunch last week ,,  and on last Monday I came up with salmon, as one of my favourite, and happily my girls love salmon too.

Here's my marie cat bento which I packed in Zojirushi Lunch Jar

Inside the lunch jar : Steam Rice with marie cat character, Salmon Teriyaki, fish ball, and chicken ball. I decorated the jar with brocolly and carrots. 

I made 2 bentos for my 2 girls ,, (^^,)

Snoopy and Woodstock ,, Bento # 023

Busy week after long school holiday ,, so many things to do, and so limited times (^0^)

This morning I promised to prepared my kids' breakfast and lunch ,, so I came up with this chocolate and cheese sandwich ,, with snoopy and woodstock character ,, but my girl wanted to give her friends another character sandwich, so I made them dorami, bear, and rabbit sandwich (^^,) ,,

For my girls' lunch ,, I prepare one theme, snoopy and woodstock bento. I filled the box with rice, tamago egg, and indonesian style fried chicken (one of their favorite food). 

 

Kid's Cooking Class ,, Tour de sushi Tei

Herewith another activity of my kids during their school holiday (^^,)

Tour de Sushi Tei ,,

They learned to make sushi by themselves ,, so excited. This was their chance to make their own Sushi.

 All the ingredients already prepared by Sushi Tei Restaurant, and here's the ingredients :

sushi rice, tamago egg, crab, sweet corn, kani kamaboko, avokado, kyuri, Japanese mayonnaise and nori

They learned how to make the sushi and fun sushi rolling lessons ,,, guided by Sushi Tei chef.

 And at the end of the class, they can eat their yummy sushi. Wooww they showed their best sushi ,,,,, what an experience ,,,  

My kids really enjoyed the time  and had a lots of fun.
